About Department

The Statistics Department was launched with the establishment of the faculty in 1960. The department offers B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Statistics. It also provides courses in Statistics for minor specialization for both Economics and Political Science Departments at the faculty. Moreover, the members of the department are delegated to teach statistics classes for students in other faculties such as "Faculty of Mass Communication", "Faculty of Nursing", and "Faculty of Arts". It also cooperates with other scientific departments from different universities to carry out field researches related to the problems of the Egyptian society, it offers scientific solutions which are applicable. Moreover, it organizes trainings and offers consultations for many decision makers in different ministries, governmental organizations and in the private sector. Besides, it offers the students training opportunities in the “Information and Decision Support Center", “Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics” and many banks. The department organizes an international conference yearly at the end of March entitled "Statistics and Modeling in Social and Human Sciences”.
